Sensor specifications

Weather is far more variable than we often realize. Small hills or valleys can create significant temperature pockets, and even a few meters of elevation can cause notable differences in conditions. Plants grow at specific heights, while traditional weather stations are positioned higher, resulting in inaccurate hyper-local weather data. Our canopy sensors go beyond this limitation by also monitoring soil properties, such as soil temperature and moisture, which can vary dramatically both between and within individual blocks.

Diagram of a vineyard row showing sensor placement at three heights: above the canopy (more ventilated, more light, unobstructed precipitation), at canopy height (higher humidity, heat and frost pockets), and a soil probe at ground level (soil properties at multiple points).

Smart design

Our canopy sensors have been engineered from the ground up specifically for the needs of our farmers. These sensors are rugged, with passive or active ventilation, solar powered and discrete. We believe in sustainable technology, therefore these sensors have been designed considering a closed-loop product life. We encourage our customers to return it to us after many years of life for recycling of 90% of its parts — the remaining components are stored and reused for other applications.
